Armonia launches wine and spirits competition

With the new Women’s International Trophy’ wine and spirits competition, Armonia Deutschland GmbH has introduced a new concept that is unique in Germany: the world’s best wines and spirits will be tasted by an international jury of women, all of whom are professionals in the field.

The new wine and spirits competition will be held for the first time on June 25-26, 2021, in Mainz, capital of the Rhineland-Palatinate state. The competition is recognised by the state’s ministry of agriculture and is certified in accordance with the ISO 9001 standard. For producers and consumers, this standard is the sign of a rigorous selection.

Internationally known experts use sensorial analysis criteria established by the OIV (International organisation of vine and wine) to evaluate samples submitted to the competition. The best samples are awarded gold and silver medals.

The Armonia group, with its 30 years of experience in organising wine competitions in Europe (Frankfurt International Trophy, International Competition of Lyon, etc.), guarantees optimal tasting conditions.

Each year, the Women’s International Trophy is represented by a woman who is prominent in the wine world, since the long-term objective of the honorary presidency is to make the competition better known in the field.

As of now, women who would like to be part of the jury can register on the www.womenstrophy.com website.
